Euroglide Pointing for Cigar Mile at Aqueduct

Euroglide was happy to walk out with foreman Alex Berec and pose for pictures on a beautiful, sunny morning last week at Peter Eurton's barn, Santa Anita. The 5-year-old son of Honor Glide is nominated for the Grade 1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct, to be run Saturday, Nov. 28.



Euroglide ran third in the Grade 3 San Simeon Handicap and was a close second in the El Segundo Handicap, both at Santa Anita. In his most recent race, Nov. 4 at Oak Tree, he finished second by a nose in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at 6-1/2 furlongs.

Zap! of the Week: Love that Euroglide!

Larry Zap spends some time with one of our favorites, Euroglide, in Peter Eurton's barn at Del Mar. This horse has oodles of personality!

Euroglide is headed for the feature race on Wednesday, 8/19/09 at Del Mar -- the Green Flash Handicap for 3-year-olds and up at 5 furlongs on the turf. He looks fit and ready.

The video contains some fantastic footage of "the Glide" getting an acupuncture treatment, going out for a 5/8 work, and chowing down on his feed. All quite amusingly narrated by Zap. Enjoy!

Euroglide to Face Desert Code in Sunday's Daytona Handicap at Santa Anita

Zap! of the Week: Euroglide at Santa Anita

Euroglide put in a key work Monday morning on the Pro-Ride track at Santa Anita for trainer Peter Eurton. It was his final prep for Sunday's Grade 3 Daytona Handicap at about 6-1/2 furlongs on the downhill turf course.

Euroglide was clocked going 5 furlongs in 1:00.60. He will be seeking his third straight win Sunday.

Euroglide's connections just before his scintillating win in today's 3rd race. Euroglide, and jockey Michael Baze, battled gamely down the stretch to prevail by a neck over Kruger Park and Alex Solis.

Zap! of the Week: An Interview with Euroglide

Okay... this is just too fun! Euroglide is quite a character, or is it the interviewer? Zap may have created a whole new genre in horse racing videos.

Euroglide is looking very self-confident, almost cocky, for a horse entered to run in a couple of days. Anyway, makes for a great interview. And my money's on him.

Euroglide is in the 3rd race at Santa Anita on Wednesday, an allowance optional claimer down the hillside turf course (about 6-1/2 furlongs).

Zap is known as "the eye" for being able to measure quality in thoroughbred racehorses, and is practically a fixture at Southern California tracks.
