Latest Visit with The Pamplemousse
Several of The Pamplemousse's fans have been asking for an update on him, so I paid a visit to trainer Julio Canani's barn at Hollywood Park this week, where I found The Pamplemousse looking healthy, happy and frisky. He enjoyed the attention I gave him --- as well as a couple of carrots that he happily munched down.
According to Canani, The Pamplemousse has been tack walking lately, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for his return to the races soon. My prediction: The Pamplemousse will come back and win the Santa Anita Handicap (a la Seabiscuit)!

I was just thinking about what he is up to. Thanks for the update!
Hooray for the Pamplemousse and thanks for posting this Mary. And thanks too for my season pass- (from the contest) I had so much fun and went many, many times!
I heard a while ago he was coming back, that's great news!
Thanks for the update!
Bert from Alberta wonders...
Have followed and been interested in the "Grapefruit" since his 3 Y.O. campaign. Knew of his injury but not of his fate. 2011 "BIG CAP?" Just a maybe. What will his stud fee be and at what location?
I just love Him, thank you Mary for the update!!!!
Thanks for the update, it's always hard to find information on him especially if you're on the east coast. Looking forward to his return to the track!
Great to hear he's doing well and looking forward to seeing him back racing. Appreciate the update
We are Mousse Groupies - Visit him often and spoil him w/carrots, apples, pears, cookies, etc. He hoovers it all down without a pause!! Hoopefully,The Pampelmousse will soon be on the loose, again!! He is lucky to be in a barn managed by Julio Canani...the Russian Peruvian, and trainer Canani has taken his time with this fellow to get him competitive again! the mitz
Thank you Mary so much for the update! He looks good, and I hope he is on the loose again soon.
I am the resident East Coast "Mousse groupie". I really hope that I get to see him when my boyfriend and I come out West in October.
Thanks again!
The Mousse is great! Also it is good to see that with patience, care and right training one can (whether horse or human) recover from soft tissue injuries. I am fighting to recover myself from bad injuries and it is great to have the Mousse as my hero for such!
