Horse of the Year Poll Results

Curlin was awarded Horse of the Year honors for the second year in a row, at last night's Eclipse Awards ceremony in Miami, Florida. Those who voted in my unofficial online poll over the last several weeks chose Zenyatta over Curlin almost two to one. Here are the results:

  • Zenyatta: 199
  • Curlin: 108
  • Big Brown: 32
  • Other: 2
Total votes: 341

Zenyatta was so much better last year it's not even funny. She got majorly gypped. Sad times when people vote for a horse as HOTY that couldn't even finish on the board in the championship race.

I think Pepper's Pride should have been considered.

But I've always been a Curlin fan, so I'm happy enough.

Zenyatta had her chance to prove that she was better than Curlin in the Classic. Instead, she beat up the same fillies that she's beaten all year.
Curlin did it ALLl You don't have to be undefeated to be horse of the year otherwise Pepper's Pride beats all.
I'd like to see Zenyatta dominate ALL horses this year and I think that she can.
